Kedarnath

Pandavas visited Kedarnath to ask for forgiveness after the Mahabharata. But Lord Shiva transformed himself into a bull and hid in plain sight. When the Pandavas recognised him, he dove into the ground but Bheema grabbed him by the tail forcing Lord Shiva to appear and forgive them.

Studies have shown that the Chorabari glacier, source of the river Mandakini, submerged Kedarnath for four centuries before retreating. The Kedarnath temple emerged relatively unscathed. The resilience of Kedarnath in the recent flash floods was also nothing short of a miracle. Kedarnath is one with nature, one with the surrounding elements.
